Anurag Thakur is the Member of Parliament from Hamirpur Himachal Pradesh. He was elected as MP in May 2008 succeeding his father Prem Kumar Dhumal. Anurag SinghThakur has been able to emerge as a promising political leader in Himachal Pradesh and India. He is the young Face of BJP now and is poised to play a leading role in the politics of state in succeeding times.
At the age of 25 Anurag Thakur became the youngest President of HPCA, Himachal Cricket Association. He is a sports lover and himself was a promising sports man during his early age. He used to play cricket and this love for cricket has resulted into a beautiful International Stadium at Dharamshala with the efforts of Anurag Singh Thakur.
In 2010 Anurag Singh Thakur came into lime light and became a national leader of BJP. Anurag Singh Thakur was appointed the president of the All India Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha by BJP president Nitin Gadkari.
In 2011 he again hogged the limelight by heading BJPs Ekta Yatra. Anurag was heading the BJP supporters towards Lal Chowk Srinagar to hoist Indian Flag there. However the BJP leaders along with Anurag were not allowed to cross the Jammu Border and were arrested.
